Day Five
You Did It!
How to Keep the Momentum Flowing
Can you believe we’ve made it to the final day?
You’ve taken huge steps towards taking control of your spending—and I hope you’re already feeling a bit lighter and more empowered. Hopefully your journal is looking full and you have a better understanding of what it really means to create a healthy relationship with money.
Over the past few days, you’ve shifted your mindset, opened your eyes to your financial habits, created a simple budget, and even found some fun ways to enjoy life without spending a ton. You’re building solid habits that will set you up for long-term success!
But how do we stay that way? How can we let this impact us for the rest of our lives?
Keep the Flow
Keep practicing your new money habits.
This month, challenge yourself to track every dollar you spend. Or to try out more low-cost family fun activities and outings. Set up a monthly budget check-in to make sure you're staying on track, or if you need to adjust anything.
Visualize
On a less practical level, you need to visualize what you want your life to look like on a daily basis. Every morning when you wake up to enjoy your coffee, or wrangle your toddler into a fresh diaper, try to picture what your day looks like without needing to spend excess money. What does your emergency fund look like when you’re able to put away your goal instead of putting it off again for another month.
Do you feel happier? Do you feel more secure? Are you able to tackle whatever your day has to offer knowing that it’s okay to say ‘no’ to whatever extra purchase that comes struttin’ up your front steps?
Keep your vision on the goal. Obviously life happens and things come up and you must look in the present time. But when you can, always think about the future. Your present wants are impacting your future financial health.
"Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort." — Franklin D. Roosevelt
Your journey doesn’t stop once you exit this page. Keep looking for resources, keep seeking ways to improve your financial health. The internet is filled with all kinds of free tools—blogs, podcasts, printable’s, and YouTube channels—that will help you build on what you’ve learned here.
What Tools are Available?
Sometimes, a little extra support can make all the difference. If you're looking for an easy way to stay on track, there are apps and tools designed to simplify saving, budgeting, and even investing with just a few taps. Whether it’s rounding up your spare change into savings, tracking every dollar you spend, or automating your budget, these tools take the guesswork out of managing your money.
I've put together a few of my favorite budgeting and savings resources to help you stay on top of your financial goals. Check them out here and see which one works best for you!
Acorns
Acorns is my ride or die. If you’re interested in long term investing this is by far THE BEST micro investing solution out there. You can link your checking or savings account to round up spare change from purchases you make with your account and invest it. It runs in the background and you don’t even miss the change it’s putting away for you! And right now, if you use my link you can get an extra $5 bonus investment when you sign up and make your first investment! Click here to get started with Acorns!
I’ve had Acorns for about 6 years now. And I never miss the spare change I invest. Plus you can make one time payments when you’re feeling generous with your savings.
Listen, I get it—investing sounds like something rich people do while sipping overpriced lattes and casually checking their stock portfolios. But here’s the thing: Acorns lets you invest with just your spare change.
Yup, that random 42 cents sitting in your bank account after paying bills? It could be growing into actual wealth instead of just existing. It’s like setting your money on autopilot, but without the whole ‘oops, I forgot to check my balance’ panic.
Let your future self thank you from the cozy confines of stress free financial health!
EveryDollar

Ever feel like your money disappears faster than your kid’s snack stash? That’s where EveryDollar comes in! It’s a zero-based budgeting app that helps you give every dollar a job—so instead of wondering where your money went, you’ll know exactly where it’s working.
